From 2009 to 2015, Mr. Brown was assigned to the FBI’s Protective Operations Unit and was selected personally by the Attorney General of the United States to serve as Agent in Charge (AIC) of the Attorney General’s Protection Detail. In that capacity, Mr. Brown was responsible for a team of 23 highly trained FBI Special Agents and was responsible for leading a comprehensive Security Program addressing all aspects of Physical Security and Executive Protection. He led complex security operations in every major city in the United States and over 30 foreign countries throughout Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Latin America. In
September 2012, while conducting security operations in the Middle East, Mr. Brown led the
evacuation of the Attorney General and other officials in the midst of regional unrest.
Subsequently, as Unit Chief (Acting) of the FBI’s Protective Operations Unit, Mr. Brown served
as the FBI’s Subject Matter Expert on Executive Protection and was pivotal in standardizing
selection, training, and operations across the FBI’s Protective Operations enterprise. Mr. Brown
received numerous awards and recognition throughout his career including the FBI Director’s
High Impact Leadership Award in 2015. In 2016 he was retained by one of the two major
presidential campaigns as an Expert Witness on Executive Protection and was instrumental in
favorably resolving a criminal matter on their behalf.
